Agentic AI Becomes User Friendly My AI (LLM) trajectory started with prompts. Ask the chatbot a question and get an answer. Then I learned more about prompt engineering: crafting the prompt, copying and pasting, and saving prompts I wanted to reuse. Next came Projects: a system to store instructions and reference files, thereby keeping the AI grounded in one specific area of work. Today we're going to talk about a new AI chatbot feature: Skills. If you think of Projects as nouns: a workspace with standing instructions and reference files, you can think of Skills as verbs: the action, the steps, and access to powerful, custom scripts. A Skill is an instruction set that teaches the AI how to do a specific task like weekly-status-update or client-onboarding-email. It is also something that can be used in any Project, in any chat. This issue explains what Skills are, why they matter, and the one-step prompt it takes to build your first. |
