The Challenge

ACLU asked us to reverse-engineer their existing custom CMS and migrate 8,000 pages of content and data relationships to a new CMS within a nine-month period.

The Solution

[iS2 Digital] delivered a thorough and detailed Business Technology Strategy that broke down the ACLU's existing CMS and established the process to migrate their Web site from Virtual Sprockets to CrownPeak’s Content Management System.

Project Details

  • Fast, fault-tolerant migration allowed high availability and no loss of data
  • Better accommodation of their many content types
  • Improved interdepartmental management with workflow abilities
  • Quality organization and presentation of content for myriad target users
  • Efficient updating of live content with little server impact
  • Dramatic flexibility in content management and sustainability
  • Improved site performance, repeat visits, and traffic

For staffing firms managing hundreds of job listings, the standard search experience has become a measurable liability. Conventional keyword search, even enhanced with location filters and faceted navigation, requires candidates to know exactly what to search for and returns results that rarely match actual needs. The search experience, long treated as a commodity feature, had become a bottleneck in both candidate acquisition and placement quality.

LA Department of City Planning

The Los Angeles Department of City Planning's zoning code portal was started on a platform approaching its end-of-life and could no longer provide the support expected of critical government infrastructure. Upgrading was urgent: the city had adopted a new Zoning Code in late 2024, with the Downtown Community Plan Area going into effect in early 2025, and the department needed a platform capable of supporting updated regulations at launch.
