The Challenge

Alliant Communities needed a digital presence matching their market leadership, as their existing CMS couldn't showcase their expanded capabilities in affordable housing. The CMS required customization to support their structure where staff and properties spanned multiple divisions. Having developed over 25,000 units and managing billions in assets, streamlined content management improved efficiency and better represented their brand.

The Solution

Through collaborative discovery, iS2 Digital worked with Alliant Communities to understand their strategic positioning goals and translate their vision into functional solutions. The design process focused on capturing the organization's professional standing and decades of experience in visual form.

Three initial homepage compositions demonstrated this understanding. The client's enthusiastic response confirmed the designs reflected their strategic needs and brand identity accurately. This alignment enabled efficient progress through subsequent design phases.

A notable example of adaptive problem-solving emerged during image selection. The client selected a hero image showing a family viewing a building under construction, but the high-rise structure didn't represent their actual portfolio. The team developed an alternative approach: combining AI design tools with the client's property renderings to create authentic imagery unique to their work, generating custom assets that served both visual impact and brand accuracy.

The WordPress implementation delivered workflow improvements through custom content management. Staff and properties can now be associated with multiple divisions while maintaining unique ordering per division, automating what previously required repetitive manual effort. Technical optimization included plugin consolidation and integration fixes that improved site performance.

The project completed successfully on schedule, launching in two months from an October kickoff to a December delivery.

Streets LA Home Page

LA Bureau of Street Services

StreetsLA faced a critical technology challenge that was impacting both their public-facing operations and internal efficiency. Their existing website was built on Drupal 7, a content management system reaching end-of-life, creating significant security and maintenance risks. The visual design was outdated and reflected poorly on the organization's brand as a forward-thinking public works department.

HAPI at UCLA

The Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI) at UCLA relied on a system of Excel spreadsheets, printouts, legacy PERL scripts, and physical filing to manage their indexing operations. With no centralized digital workflow or validation, the system was inefficient, error-prone, and difficult to maintain. [iS2 Digital] was hired to reverse-engineer and replicate the system digitally, capturing business logic and streamlining internal workflows.
