1928.com was a diamond in the rough – and we helped them shine

1928.com was a diamond in the rough – and we helped them shine It’s really a site to behold--the new 1928.com. Last year, Karma Media Labs approached us to work with the 1928 Jewelry Company as their Web site developer. Chances are, if you or a loved one is into vintage jewelry, you’ve heard of the 1928 Jewelry Company. They take classic period pieces and put a contemporary twist on them. Their handiwork is beautiful and yet affordable for the masses.

An example:

Something for the ladies.

Vintage Inspired Amethyst Purple Floral Brooch Getting an opportunity to redesign their site posed a couple of challenges we at Imagistic were all-too-ready to tackle -- their old site lacked the luster of their classic brand, and the eCommerce platform driving it didn’t give them the functionality -- or the punch -- to manage it with ease and drive the big sales. Our solution was to give them a site that was not only visually stunning -- but a more contemporary mirror of their brand. We feel that it says accurately: this is the site for modern jewelry with a vintage flair.

Dramatic new look for 1928.com.

Dramatic new look for 1928.com.

As for the platform overhaul -- whew! After migrating 7,000 products and 29,000 customers, we implemented one of the largest open source eCommerce systems, Magento. It packs a wallop of features, and has just the turbo boost the company needs for consumers to transact on their site with ease. At the end of the day (or the holiday, as it were) -- the site generated six-figure sales during the Christmas season -- doubling what it earned in 2008! I’m pleased to report that their sales are still going strong, and we continue to work with them to stabilize and maintain their new technology. Check it out and let us know what you think: www.1928.com. Until next time, Michael
